Welcome to the website of Bring the Dogs in, Nova Scotia - a small group of individuals working to help chained dogs in our province - who are working to help dogs through the passage of legislation.
And it's all going to be specific to Canada! Because that's where we are! Yea! We'll also have links to the US Dogs Deserve Better - because down there - we're a pretty big deal - but up here in Canada - we're pretty sparsely populated - but that doesn't mean that there aren't a ton of dogs being chained - it just means that we've got a lot of work to do.
Please take a second to sign the petition that we`ve started - we're going to be submitting it to the provincial legislators here in Nova Scotia - we need to change the laws here to effect any lasting change for chained dogs - and we need to tell our elected officials through our voices! If you don't feel comfortable signing an on-line petition - email dogkisser@gmail.com - and I'll arrange for you to sign a paper copy of our petition!!
Other provinces have also started petitions like ours - you can find a petition like ours on the Newfoundland SPCA's website as well! You can check their's out at http://www.spcastjohns.org/ - good ideas are easy to find!
This website was begun in February, 2010 - so it's just in it's beginning stage - check back often - because it'll expand quickly as time goes on! |
